So, this is going up a little late, huh? The panel was Saturday night! Trust me though, I have a good excuse! I think it's more fun to not tell you my excuse, so have your fun making one up for me. Let's get into what you're here for, though: A rundown of the Cinematics panel.
The panel was a lot more technical than most of the other panels that I saw. It was very technical, giving more insight into how the cinematics were made than you would expect. They started from the very beginning of the process: The storyboards. The process of the storyboarding was described as, "sitting down and jamming out ideas." A very, very interesting note is that the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic started out in the same form the previous ones did. A montage of various action scenes, with a few one-liners from Arthas. There were even going to be gnomes in the montage! As they continued refining the storyboards, it became less and less of a montage and more and more Arthas, until they finally went for a more story-driven cinematic, focusing on Arthas himself and the might of the Scourge.
They start "jamming out" quick sketches, basic ideas of how the scenes will look. From that point they start the basic modeling. The base shapes, things like that. From there they start on the base details using a displacement map. If you've ever used a map editor from some game, you'll have the basic idea of what that is. Raising terrain, lowering terrain. Lifting mountains, lowering canyons. The difference being those canyons are eye sockets, mouths, wrinkles, things like that. They use some base stencils to work in skin textures. The programs they mention using are ZBrush, Mudbox and Maya. They had some great slides throughout the panel, but I managed to find the seat at the perfect angle to have the DirectTV camera man in my field of vision. Huzzah! Sorry, guys.(Sell WOW Gold)
They move onto the simulations and rigging from there. They make basic puppets, rigging up the points of motion and figuring out where they want the "fleshy bits." Fleshy bits such as the webbing on the frost wyrm's wings, things like that. Bits of fleshy and skin. Then it's a matter of how they'll move, how gravity and motion will affect them. One of the developers mentioned that one of their passes of the 'fleshy bits' ended up not working out right, and it ate over six hours of work.
The next step was getting the army visualized. The terrain, which was conceptualized by the artists (using google image search and shots of Antarctica), rendered in 3D by the modelers, and then painted in, was plotted out to make room for the army. There were so many soldiers on screen during the shot of the Scourge ranks that they needed to use three different levels of detail to render properly. Even with the varying levels of quality on the soldiers, there was a problem of letting all of them render at once. If they let it try to run that way while rendering, their equipment would have melted. They used bounding boxes to seperate each soldier, making sure that each soldier was rendered one by one rather than all at once. They decided to explain what would happen if they let all of the soldiers render at once with a simple slide: A picture of their boss saying, "Your work sucks, you're fired." Pretty good explanation!
The rendering itself works in multiple stages. They start with 'previsualization' and let the scene run through at varying levels of quality. They refine the movements and motions, making sure weight and gravity are properly applied. The dragon in particular was cited as taking a lot of work. They had to properly make it seem as if the dragon was holding its own weight up on its wings, as well as properly visualizing the transfer of weight from its legs to its wings when it dove from the cliff.(world of warcraft cd key)
They spoke about adding their special effects next, and one of the biggest tools they used was Pixar's RenderMan. The effects team did most of the shinies. Their summary was, "smoke, magic, and awesomeness."
There were a lot of details about lighting and things of the sort- there were actually three individual light sources applied to the Scourge army to make them look right. There was a lot of talk about compositing as well, but my brain fizzled out through the tech jargon. They use a compositor called Nuke.
The Q&A session was brief, and again, more technical than the other panels I saw. We'll gloss over most of them, because a lot of the questions came from students looking to get jobs doing work like this. There were two questions in particular that did catch my attention, though.
Q: How long was the Lich King sitting on his throne before the cinematic?
A: Somewhere around 4-5 years.
Q: In the cinematic, when Arthas rubs the snow between his fingers, is that a nod to the Warcraft III cinematic where Arthas crushes the rose petal between his fingers?
A: Yes, it is. Even though Arthas is no longer human, he's still the type of person that wants to feel what is in his hands. The substance and texture of what's around him.

There are a lot of reputations to grind in World of Warcraft. In fact, one of the ways the game has become more accessible to players with time constraints is by the introduction of daily quests as means to gain reputation, and eventually gear and other rewards (flying mounts, various recipes, other items) from faction vendors.
As an example, last night I finally reached exalted with Shattered Sun Offensive (Sell WOW Gold) on my third character to do so, my tauren warrior. So why the feeling of glorious freedom and the heated flight to the hills the second I hit exalted?

On any characters that don't need the rep, I usually just do the outland SSO dailies for maintenance cash at this point, since that's still five dailies per 70 (on Norg, that's four characters, 20 dailies, so I may only do it on one or two at most) and if I'm actually grinding the rep that's the only character that does any dailies at all (sell lotro gold). Is this the intended result of reputation gain, to make me actively dislike the faction that's growing to trust and respect me? Probably not. It's not their fault I have so many alts.
Still, I think I'm done with the Shattered Sun for the time being (sell Lineage 2 Adena). Once my paladin hits 70 I'll want the mace and a shield for my tanking set (sell Anarchy Online Credits). Well, I'll probably get both shields. Luckily that's still a few levels away, time for me to stop hating the very sight of every single quest giver on that island.

A California resident who once worked briefly for Blizzard has recently divorced her husband of six years because according to her, his addiction to World of Warcraft ruined their marriage. Never having played the game herself, 28 year-old Jocelyn stated that her husband Peter’s crippling addiction to the game became more than she could handle.
“He would get home from work at 6:00, start playing at 6:30, and he’d play until three a.m. Weekends were worse — it was from morning straight through until the middle of the night. It took away all of our time that we spent together. I ceased to exist in his life.”
Having been friends with Peter since the age of 13 and married for six years, it only took a paltry nine months for the marriage to collapse after receiving the game as a gift from her.
“I bought the game for him for Christmas 2004, when it first came out. By May we had our first serious discussion about where our marriage was going, and by September I had moved out.”
Having had many discussions on the fact that WoW had taken over Peter’s life, Jocelyn tried to intervene and schedule “together” time with him - to no avail. On one such occasion, she had set aside 30 minutes to watch a favorite TV show together, but he refused because he was in the middle of a raid and could not understand why she was upset that he stood her up. Eventually, Peter’s domestic duties also began to suffer for the game as he stopped paying bills and refused to do his share of the housework.
Although a gamer herself Jocelyn has never played WoW because she recognized the fact that it was a game that would never end and therefore did not wish to play it. She also states that WoW was the sole catalyst for the divorce and is still highly emotional about its impact on her marriage.
“I’m real, and you’re giving me up for a fantasy land. You’re destroying your life, your six-year marriage, and you’re giving it up for something that isn’t even real. [Blizzard] build it in such a way that you have to keep putting more and more time into it to maintain your status. I remember thinking when I was married that it was downright exploitative to people who couldn’t control themselves in that way. It’s set up like a drug.”
Because of the emotional scars of the divorce and the reasons surrounding it, Jocelyn has stated that next time around, she will stay clear of gamers.
While this is indeed sad news for her and her ex-husband you cannot put the blame solely on WoW. Granted, it has proven to be a highly addictive game for some people, but you have to consider their personality and their choices. Someone like Peter more than likely has a mental issue and has a problem with addiction. Who is to say that he does not have some other forms of addiction as well? His addiction could as easily have been pot, liquor, porn or meth - if she were to have brought them into the house it would have been a different addiction instead of gaming. You have to go to the underlying source and peel back the layers. Was he unhappy in his marriage to begin with? Was he miserable at his job? Was he highly depressed? Was this form of escape a way to keep from coping with the living hell that his life had become? All of these plus family history can become contributing factors to any sort of addiction.
During her interview with MMOFLY, Joycelyn never stated or hinted around about counseling. Did the two of them ever discuss the possibility of therapy? Did she ever consider canceling their internet service, his Blizzard account and throwing his WoW disc in the trash? A lot of places you will find out about through quests.
For example, the kingdom of miscellania. I never would have even found out about the potential reward from that mini game had I not been told about it by a very knowledgeable friend. She was telling me how she was making loads of money and she didn't even have to do much work for it.
The reason I didn't know about it, is because I'm not really the questing type, unless I have to do it in order to do something specific that I fancy doing at that point in time.(Guild Wars gold)
The problem is, it's not as simple as doing that quest and then having access to those rewards, oh no. In order to do that quest, you have to have completed several other quests, which in order to do those, require you to have completed several other quests. That's not all, most of the time, you're required to have a certain skill level as well.(runescape money)
All of this takes precious time, unfortunately we can't all spend all day every day at the computer, so you need a walk through for runescape, to show you how to do everything quickly and easily.
That's where I aim to fill the void and give you a helping hand

You have to complete at least 1 quest to have access to the kingdom of miscellania, the "Throne of Miscellania" quest. If you want maximum profit from your kingdom, you should also do the "Royal Trouble" quest, to increase the amount of resources you can collect.

First of all, I suggest you put at least 2 million gold into your kingdom. I know it sounds like a lot but it's well worth it, as you can more than double your money every week. The absolute minimum that you should have in your kingdom is 750k runescape gold in any one day.
Your workers will take 10% of what's in your kingdoms treasury every day, and 75k per day is the maximum they will take, hence my recommended minimum. Any less than that and you wont make nearly as much profit as you could be making.(cheap runescape money)
Now, you have to keep your kingdom approval at 100% every day for maximum profit. How to do this? I recommend chopping maple logs on miscellania, it's quick and easy, it's also next to the kingdom so you wont have to run far

Ok now if you are looking for a way to get a lot of experience and fast I will take you through a quick tutorial on how to power level. Just note in some cases this will cost you more and will be a dreadfully boring way to play Runescape but will get you more experience in the long run.
Agility
Just to agility courses. Note some of them have a required level to get into. Just use a agility pot and train there, you only need the one dose to get in there. Then to power train with agility, then go to the wilderness course to train. (runescape money)
Combat
The only thing I know of for combat is for members only go to north Relica and kill rock crabs.
Crafting
This is a hard one but free gem cutting and crafting note in order to do this you must have several of the things you are going to craft in stock or it will go no where.(runescape money)
Farming
Well here the fastest way is to buy tree seeds and plant seeds I prefer limp roots but any plant seed will do they take 17 min to grow and I usually will be alching when I farm that’s why farming is as high as it is on my main. (Guild Wars)
Firemaking
Here just use willows, the cheapest log, but it will take more time to level using such a low level log. (runescape money)
Fishing

Discontinued items can be categorized as holiday items and non-holiday items. Holiday items were dropped on certain holidays throughout the year and could be found in random places all over the Runescape world. Since these items were only dropped once on that particular holiday, they were bound to begin to become rare and eventually with high demand and low supply the prices were forced up and the items soon became valuable and expensive.
Holiday Items
Pumpkins: Pumpkins were dropped on October 2001. They were the first holiday item to be released. It healed 14 health, and was one bite. runescape money
Christmas Crackers: These were dropped on Christmas 2001 and had random colored party hats inside them and another random item out of the game. To get the contents out you had to use it on another player. One player got the party hat; the other player got the item
Party Hats: These were inside Christmas Crackers. You can wear them on your head. They came in six different colors: Red, White, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Green.
Easter Eggs: These were dropped on Easter 2002. They heal 12 HP and are 1 bite. buy runescape money
